
Blake McGrath has caught the eyes and attention of audiences across the globe with his memorable and electric performances. Known as one of the worlds best dancers, the multi talented McGrath was introduced to the world as a finalist during the premiere season of the acclaimed series So You Think You Can Dance USA. Now McGrath is taking his amazing dancing abilities and pairing it with his voice as he releases his debut album Time to Move.
Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, the Canadian relocated to Los Angeles where his energy, drive and innate artistry quickly drew the notable interest of industry greats. McGrath has shared the stage with legendary artists including Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. In 2001, McGrath was chosen to perform on Michael Jackson’s thirtieth anniversary special. Michael is one of McGrath’s favorite artists telling Breakaway Radio that Michael has “given him the inspiration and everything that I want to be.” In 2004, he performed alongside Paulina Rubio at the 2004 Latin Grammy Awards.
From center stage to TV and movie roles. His early television appearances include: Choices of the Heart: The Margaret Sanger Story (1995) playing Stuart Sanger, and the TV show recreation of Goosebumps book “Stay Out of the Basement”. His cinematic credits range from the Academy Award-winning film Chicago to the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning adaptation of the musical Rent. He was also featured as a dancer in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody in the episode Commercial Breaks. Blake’s star appeal has cast him in the commercial spotlight where he has appeared in ads for globally esteemed brands among Pepsi, Gap, Old Navy, Hummer and iPod.
He continues to move and inspire through his current endeavours as a Judge and Choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Canada and with his co-owned company Coastal Dance Rage, facilitating the world’s largest dance conventions featuring world renowned Choreographers. Blake’s broad range and immeasurable capacity is taking the entertainment industry by storm. His debut DVD, entitled Dance Driven was widely successful worldwide.

In early 2010 Blake signed on with industry powerhouse Universal Music. His debut album “Time to Move” was released in November 2010 across Canada, quickly selling out of store shelves. Blake co-wrote almost every song on the album and enjoyed the creative process of putting it together. “The Night,” a song that tells the listener to be free of his/her inhibitions was the albums first single, and has since been followed by the catchy and club pounding anthem “Relax.” Blake’s artistic vision is shown through his music videos, which show a mesmorizing display of his God given talent both as a dancer and musician. The videos are a feast for the eyes and also include cameo appearances from some of the best dancing talents in the world. “Relax” was also choreographed by the world renowned Mia Michaels.
Blake is currently getting to release a third single, a song which he feels is going to take him where he needs to go. (Breakaway Radio, 2010) He is also working on a cross Canada tour, and an international music deal. Blake’s star has only began to rise. With his talents, vision, drive and determination, there is no end to what he will be able to accomplish next.
