Lana Del Rey - Born To Die OUT NOW

The most anticipated album in a long time is now ready to put you in a euphoric state.
These days, it is hard to even get through a new album in its entirely without having an overwhelming urge to press the skip button. This is not the case with this album, and in all honesty I thought it would be. With so much hype surrounding this singer thanks to her internet sensations like “Blue Jeans,” “Video Games,” and “Born to Die,”  I thought the rest of the album might just be full of fillers. I am so glad it is not. She produced fresh tracks for the record that creates a pleasant listening experience.
It is new, unique, and cinematic at times. It brings the listener on a journey, which is what music should do. She has managed to pair an old fashioned voice with today’s hip hop and electronic pop beats. Something that is not easy to do.
Her sometimes dark lyrics paired with her sunshine, fifties look, and throwback voice is what separates her from the popstars out there right now. Unfortunately, some of the songs are trying to mold to that group such as “Diet Mountain Dew” where the lyrics are weird and choppy. Even this song though, I still really enjoy. Even if the album bombs, at least she may get an ad campain from Mountain Dew using her song!
Sure the album isn’t perfect and there are some songs where the lyrics fall a little short, but in its sum, I think Lana fans won’t be disappointed.
Stand out tracks:
Born to Die
Summertime Sadness
Dark Paradise
National Anthem

Lana Del Rey | Born to Die

What an amazing song and video. Lana will be on this weeks episode of Saturday Night Live and her debut album is out at the end of the month! She reminds me of Stevie Nicks. She calls herself a ‘gangster Nancy Sinatra.’ It is working for her!
